After adopting some of our horses, we’ve received messages or news about them that we’d like to share with you here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crazy<\/h2>\n\n

Recovered in 2017, rehabilitated and then gradually put to work.
\nCrazy was adopted by Oc\u00e9ane, who took time for him.<\/p>\n

Let me tell you about my adventure with Crazy.
\nHe’s been sharing my life for two and a half years and I’m very happy with him. I’d like to thank the refuge for that.
\nHe’s a very pleasant horse to deal with every day, whether it’s other horses or people.
\nCrazy, or Kiki as he’s known, is an 8-year-old French trotter. <\/p>\n

When I took him on, Kiki didn’t canter (only in freedom) and he didn’t trot in hand either. Today he gallops willingly, trots in hand and we work on two tracks. He shows a lot of beautiful things. He’s a very willing horse with a huge heart. He’ll always try to please me. He learns and retains things very well.
\nIn jumping he’s also really great, even if at first he didn’t really know how to do it. He’s a fast learner! But we need to work on his muscles, especially his back. He’s also a clumsy horse who doesn’t always manage his long legs.
\nWhen it came to working on foot, he was much more reserved (as if he didn’t dare), but he’s improved a lot and now we’re turning a corner. <\/p>\n

What he really likes: galloping along the banks of the Broye. Otherwise, he’ll play with anything he can get his hands on: a glove, the dung catcher, the broom, his rope (for walks, for example) and the stick. And when he’s tied up, he unties himself and his friends. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Texas<\/h2>\n\n

Message from her host family:<\/p>\n

Here are some photos of Texas, who’s been in a branch of the Refuge for a year and a half now, where he’s having a great retirement with beautiful meadows. We love to go for walks with him (me and his granny too? who also likes to come and find him) and go on lovely walks by hand. <\/p>\n

Texas grazes again and again, whether it’s sunny or snowy, he always manages to find a few twigs of grass. He loves kisses and knows he’ll never escape a big cuddle. <\/p>\n

It’s been 9 years since I adopted him, and they’ve been the best 9 years of my life. He’s an adorable, calm, very, very greedy horse who’s currently 32 years old. Despite his age, he’s doing wonderfully well and makes us very happy. <\/p>\n

Shakira<\/h2>\n\n

After her rescue, we offered her a few months’ work to give her the best possible chance of placement. Elia and Karine were very taken with her, and we’d like to thank them for taking the time to care for this gentle and beautiful Franche-Montagne. <\/p>\n

Here’s what they had to say:<\/p>\n

Shakira came to my house in 2013, I was 12, and she was 4. We were both young. Indeed, the early days were quite difficult… she didn’t trust anyone and was always suspicious. <\/p>\n

But fortunately, with time, gentleness and hard work, we got there! Now she follows me everywhere and is always up for new adventures! She’s become hyper-curious and has acquired a taste for life! She lives surrounded by friends in her stable and we make balls galore. For two years now, we’ve been working a lot with halters, especially on rides. Her confidence in me is growing all the time. She’s an extraordinary mare and an exact reflection of me, I don’t know who’s rubbing off on whom ahaha… <\/p>\n

For 7 years now, she’s shared my life through the good times and the bad… she’s always there to cheer me up but also to put me in my place when I get into trouble ahaha.<\/p>\n

She’s less and less afraid of the van, which means we can go on more and more outings like rallies or trips to the lake! In short, if I had to do it all over again, I’d do the same thing with the same juju! <\/p>\n

Sultan<\/h2>\n\n

News from Sultan who is 36 !
\nA former school pony who was looking for a place to retire, Sultan has been enjoying his beautiful retirement life in the canton of Vaud for 11 years.
